• Account information: Name, email address, password, and optional profile details (farm name, location, bio, profile photo) when you create an account.
• Batch & product data: Honey batch details, apiary information, photos, lab results, and product descriptions you choose to upload.
• Payment information: Billing details processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.
• Scan analytics: When consumers scan a QR code, we collect anonymous scan metadata including approximate location (city-level), device type, and timestamp.
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and interactions with the Service, collected to improve the product.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the Service, including generating provenance pages and QR codes
• To process payments and manage subscriptions
• To display your public profile, apiary, and batch information on provenance pages you choose to publish
• To provide scan analytics and insights on your dashboard
• To send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, subscription confirmations)
• To improve the Service and develop new features
• To respond to support requests

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

• Public provenance pages: When you publish a batch, the batch details, apiary region (approximate, not exact), and your beekeeper profile are publicly visible to anyone who scans the QR code.
• Service providers: We use third-party services including Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), and Google Maps (apiary region maps). These providers process data on our behalf under their respective privacy policies.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.

4. Location Privacy

We take apiary location privacy seriously. Exact apiary coordinates are never displayed publicly. On provenance pages, we show only a fuzzy region (approximately 30 km radius) to indicate the general area of origin without revealing the precise location of your hives.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., financial records). Published provenance pages will be unpublished upon account deletion.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access and receive a copy of your personal data
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Data portability (export your data in a common format)
• Withdraw consent at any time

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Scan analytics are collected without cookies using anonymous metadata.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
